Bill Miller was many things to me.

First, we were in a band together for many years. He was such a great player. He ruined me for working with other drummers. Really. Then, years later, he became my brother-in-law. By that time he had also risen to the position of Editor In Chief at Modern Drummer magazine. I miss him every day.

In this case, Bill wanted a new photo for his editorial header, so I took a few shots of him playing his vintage Ludwig kit and edited two of them together. Voila!
